About this mantra
The Gayatri of Rama, son of Dasharatha, beloved of Sita. It asks him to turn the mind toward dharma as he lived it.
Meaning
We know the son of Dasharatha; we meditate on the beloved of Sita; may Rama impel us. Both epithets are relational, son and husband, because Rama's divinity is shown entirely inside human bonds kept perfectly. To be impelled by him is to be moved toward exactly that: dharma as love bearing its full weight, rather than as rule-keeping.
