What we collect today

Nothing you type — the site currently has no accounts, no forms, and no analytics or advertising trackers.

Our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and operations. These are kept briefly and are not used by us to identify you.

One small cookie remembers your language choice (English or Hindi). That is its only job.

The jaap counter, your practice statistics (counts, minutes, streaks — including the meditation and yoga sessions you complete and the pujas you finish), the samagri and step checklists you tick inside puja guides, and any mantras you add for yourself are saved only in your browser, on your device. They are never sent to us — we cannot see them.

Ten more small things are saved only on your device, never sent to us: whether you have seen the welcome message, the reading depth you chose there (you can change it any time from the header), which days of the seven-day path you have marked done, which "What this section is" cards you have hidden, whether you have finished the feature tour, the days on which you lit the daily lamp on the home page, whether you turned the site's sounds on, which lunar-month reckoning you chose for festival dates, your own daily practice list and the days you ticked its items, and your reminder time. Whether in-app reminders may appear at all is a browser permission, which you grant and can withdraw in your browser's own settings; we also keep the last day a reminder was shown, so that it shows once a day and no more.

What is coming, and our promise

Dharamkira will later offer accounts, saved mantras, and personal practice tracking. Before any of that launches, this policy will be updated clearly.

Our standing promise: records of your personal practice are religious data and will be treated as sensitive — private by default, never public, never sold, and always yours to export or delete.

Children

This is a general-audience informational site. When accounts launch, age rules will be stated clearly.

Your rights and how to reach us

You may ask what data we hold about you (today: effectively none) and ask for it to be deleted. A contact address will be published on the Contact page shortly; requests will be honoured from day one.

Dharamkira is operated from the United Arab Emirates and serves a global community; we aim to respect applicable privacy laws including the UAE PDPL and GDPR.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and meaningful changes will be noted plainly.
