About this mantra
The simplest Rama nama-mantra — his name with Om and Shri, the daily bow of Rama bhakti. The Ramcharitmanas says Shiva himself repeats this great mantra and teaches it in Kashi as the means of liberation.
Meaning
Om, salutations to Shri Rama. Rama is glossed 'he in whom all delight', and with Shri before it the name arrives with Sita's grace attached. The tradition calls Rama-nama the taraka — the ferrying mantra — so each recitation is one stroke of the oar: a life crossed a syllable at a time.
When to recite it
The simple daily Rama remembrance — mornings, before duty that feels heavy, and through Ram Navami; parents give it to children as a first anchor.
