About this mantra
Khaga — 'the mover in the sky' — kha, the open sky; ga, the one who goes. The fifth name watches the sun as the great traveller whose crossing makes time itself: hours, seasons, and years are only milestones on Khaga's road.
Meaning
Om, salutations to Khaga, the sky-goer. The bow is to the one traveller who never stops and never hurries: the same road each day, at the same pace. The reciter asks for that steadiness in their own crossing of the day.
When to recite it
One of the twelve names of the Surya Namaskar cycle — recited one per posture at sunrise, or counted together as a Sunday (Ravivar) jaap. Khaga is the name for disciplined routine — kept by those building a steady daily schedule, and by travellers setting out.
