About this mantra
Aditya — 'son of Aditi' — the ninth name reaches for the sun's mother. Aditi is boundlessness itself, the unfenced infinite; her sons, the Adityas, are cosmic order walking. To call the sun Aditya is to remember that even this vastness was born of something vaster.
Meaning
Om, salutations to Aditya, son of the boundless Aditi. The mantra folds the blazing sun back into a lineage: born of the infinite, carrying the infinite's order across the sky. The reciter bows to the light — and through it, to the boundlessness behind every bounded thing.
When to recite it
One of the twelve names of the Surya Namaskar cycle — recited one per posture at sunrise, or counted together as a Sunday (Ravivar) jaap. Called on when perspective is needed — grief, overwhelm, and decisions that need a wider sky.
