About this mantra
The bīja-mantra of Jupiter: Brihaspati, guru of the devas, whose name Thursday carries as Guruvar. Jyotisha counts Guru as the significator of wisdom, dharma, children, fortune and teachers.
Meaning
Om, with the seed-syllables grāṁ grīṁ grauṁ saḥ, salutations to Guru, Brihaspati: Jupiter, teacher of the gods. Jupiter is expansion: wisdom, fortune, children, faith. The jaap asks for growth in the right direction, that life get larger the way a banyan does, shade included.
