About this mantra
Salutation to Vishwakarma, the divine architect — the Rig Veda's 'all-maker' (10.81–82), and in later tradition the craftsman of the gods and the patron of every trade.
Meaning
Om, salutations to Vishwakarma — vishva-karman, 'whose work is the universe'. The gods' own architect raised golden Lanka and Indra's halls, and the mantra extends his workshop to every bench and keyboard where making happens. Spoken over tools, it says what craftspeople have always known: skill is a loan from the first maker, and well-kept tools are its worship.
When to recite it
Vishwakarma Puja, when tools, machines, and workshops rest and receive worship; also said before craft is begun, over new instruments, and before repairs are attempted.
