About this mantra
Salutation to Shri Mata, the Divine addressed as Mother. It is the first of the Lalita Sahasranama's thousand names, and is used on its own as a mantra.
Meaning
Om, salutations to the Sacred Mother. Of Lalita's thousand names this stands first, and the tradition reads the order as doctrine: before the cosmos-ruler, before the queen upon the throne, she is Ma. So the mantra needs no qualification to use. Whoever can say 'mother' is qualified. The bow is a child's, and is received as one.
